All Progressives Congress Party

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is a major political party in Nigeria, formed in February 2013 as a result of a merger of Nigeria's four largest opposition parties - the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC),…   the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). This merger was a strategic move to create a stronger force capable of challenging the then-dominant People's Democratic Party (PDP), which had been in power since the end of military rule in 1999. The APC positioned itself as a beacon of change, advocating for a new direction in Nigerian politics.<br /><br />The APC's values and ideology are centered around promoting a progressive Nigeria through good governance, social justice, and economic development. The party espouses a belief in democracy as the best form of government and emphasizes the importance of maintaining the rule of law, fighting corruption, and ensuring the rights and freedoms of individuals.
