If voters in Kogi Central wanted Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan recalled, why should an unelected body like INEC get to shut the process down? This is exactly why centralized power is dangerous—politicians and bureaucrats will always cover for each other. Whether you support her or not, the ability to hold elected officials accountable should rest solely with the people. Instead, we get more red tape and arbitrary rulings that keep the political elite in power. If politicians knew they could actually be recalled without interference, maybe they’d start listening to their constituents instead of playing political games. This is just another example of how the system is rigged against ordinary citizens.
